The Woodlands

Dining, Shopping, Golf, Concerts and More

Located about 30 minutes north of Downtown Houston is one of the largest and most exciting communities, The Woodlands. The Woodlands has been growing at an exponential rate for years and remains a top spot for families to move to, but has also become a destination all its own.

The Woodlands is a quick drive from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (about 20 minutes) making it an easy destination for out of towners. As for Houston locals, it remains far enough away from it all to feel like you’re escaping your everyday, so it’s a win-win for pretty much everyone.

Here are just a few of the exciting things to do in The Woodlands:

The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center – A top spot for family fun, romantic getaways, great dining and some of the best golfing in the area. Tucked away within the Texas Piney Woods on 28,000 acres of natural forest, The Woodlands Resort is an ideal vacation destination, not to mention an exceptional venue for meetings, conferences, social events and weddings. As for golf, Golf Digest recently ranked the resort as one of the Top 75 Best Golf Resorts in America. The resort is good for more than just golf; many have ranked this spot one of the best Houston getaways for practically any occasion.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Houston is well known for their great concerts year-round, but this spot packs some of the best artists from around the country. The Pavilion opened back in 1990 with a star-studded weekend including Frank Sinatra and Alabama with Clint Black and has since been booking big names since the start. This enormous and fun amphitheater was voted number two in the world. Throughout the years the venue has drawn some of the world’s most celebrated performers, including names like Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Luke Bryan, John Legend, Jimmy Buffett, to name a few. The Pavilion is also the summer home of the Houston Symphony, the home away from home of the Houston Ballet, and a presenting venue for the Houston Grand Opera, so there is always a lot going on.

The Woodlands Mall – Tons of shopping and dining experiences, this premier fashion center in north Houston has more than 160 stores to delight all the shoppers in your family.

Market Street – Another shopping, dining and entertainment part of The Woodlands that is gaining steam faster than imaginable. This main-street themed outdoor shopping district boasts tons of dining options (Cru – Food and Wine Bar, Uni Sushi, Tommy Bahama’s Restaurant and Bar and more), the area has become a prime destination for Houston locals looking for unique date nights and out-of-towners looking for a fun getaway, outside the big city. Try sweet or savory, coffee or wine, fine dining or snacking; Market Street has it all and then some. It’s also located right on The Waterway, adding to the excitement and uniqueness of your visit.
