Sugar Land

Sugar Land Town Square, Certified Green Restaurants and Shopping Galore

Sugar Land, Texas is an area just 20 miles southwest of Houston that has been growing in popularity in recent years, mostly for homeowners. It’s a beautiful piece of Houston land that boasts shopping, restaurants, great school districts, and top-notch golf courses. It is also home to the Sugar Land Skeeters.

The current estimated population of Sugar Land is more than 86,000 people, so it’s clear the area has a lot to offer, especially to families. Because the area is so family-friendly, there are a ton of parks to enjoy, with bike trails, picnic areas, running trails and much more.

The newly opened Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land is a state-of-the-art performance center that has already had a prestigious list of performers grace its stage in its first month of operation. Jerry Seinfeld opened the venue in January and Don Henley followed him with a performance there later in the week. The arena has a capacity that ranges from 3,000 to 6,400 based on set up, with luxury suites and hospitality areas.

But if shopping and food are more your scene, read on…

Sugar Land Town Square is a section that remains one of the busiest spots in Sugar Land, whether you’re looking for quality food, you want to play (date night with your loved one or a night out with the kiddos), hotels and so much more.

According to their website, “Sugar Land is one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas with its population jumping from 24,529 in 1990 to nearly 85,000 today. Located just 20 miles southwest of Houston, it boasts a vibrant setting with flourishing businesses, friendly people, first-class medical facilities, dynamic shopping and more.”

The area is always jam-packed with family-friendly events (like Movies Under the Moon for example), so be sure to keep an eye on their event calendar so you don’t miss out on what’s coming up.

Try a paint and wine night at Pinot’s Palette, or grab your cronies and check out Cigar Cigar! for an experience you won’t soon forget.

You truly can’t go wrong with all the dining options in the Sugar Land area, but if you’re looking for a healthier dining option with a huge and unique menu, you need to check out Ruggles Green (they have multiple locations, including one in Sugar Land Town Square) to your list of visiting spots. It is also Houston’s first certified green restaurant and they take sourcing local foods to a whole new level. You can truly taste the difference and will be wow’ed with how fresh everything on the menu is.

Whatever you choose to do while you’re in Sugar Land, a visit to Town Square is a must.
