Houston Super Bowl Host Committee Shares Final Economic Impact Report

HOUSTON (May 25, 2017)— Houston Super Bowl Host Committee (HSBHC) released today the results of an economic impact report, presenting key findings and the ongoing impact Super Bowl LI plays on Houston’s future economic development and the long lasting effect it has on the community.

HSBHC engaged Rockport Analytics to conduct the study, which found that Super Bowl LI brought in an incremental $347M of new spending to Greater Houston, which originates from the local travel spending of 150,000 visitors (not including game tickets).

Beyond the economic benefit, Super Bowl LI gave Houston a platform to communicate to the world that Houston is the most diverse, progressive and hospitable city in the United States.

“The draw of Houston as a diverse, fun and affordable destination attracted more visitors than anticipated during Super Bowl LI,” said Ric Campo, Board Chairman of HSBHC. “It was exhilarating to see such a large number of fans and tourists take advantage of all that our great city has to offer.”
